so it begins..

okay just in case everyone didnt already hear: Ive been having contractions every 10 minutes since 4pm yesterday. I called triage and they said that i have to wait till they are 5 minutes apart (or my water breaks or the baby doesnt make his kick count) to go in to the hospital. So basically, things are getting started im probably just dilating more. But they arent going enough to get the baby out yet :) He is still very active so everything seems to be okay. And thats the news, so now you know :)

We got the baby's stuff all washed and organized, his bag is also packed. My stuff is pretty much packed and Chico is lagging it. Hah what else is new! We are getting more excited but a little freaked out that it really could be any day now. Luckily I only have 2 more days of work, cuz that is killing me!! anyways i'll write more tomorrow im super tired. good nite neverland :)

dear sweet tiny infant jesus!!!

I went to the doctor's today because I had massive swelling and pain in my ankle. Turns out im just 9 months pregnant haha. Apparently I have beautiful ankles for being so far along. Partially because I actually have ankles lol :)

We went ahead and had our prenatal appointment while I was there and aHH big news!
---** I am 1 1/2 cm dilated! My cervix or whatever lining is 50% thinned out, and the baby low and head down, ready to go!

After explaining all this to me, my doctor looks at me and says, "You look shocked."
Uhm, yeah. Just a little. I didnt think you started dilating until you were actually IN labor. I learn something new everyday lol.

So thats where we are. 1 1/2 cm dilated and 50% thinned out. Weighing in at 143 lbs.
Guess we should start getting our bags together!! I spent the rest of today cleaning, organizing, washing and freaking out haha.

Cant wait to see everyone this weekend!! :)

35 weeks

SOOOOO. As of yesterday, we are 35 weeks along. 5 more weeks to go!!! Ive been more tired lately, partially because i wake up everytime i roll over which is not easy to do with this big ol belly. I went to my WIC checkup today and i have gained 25 lbs, holy cow! No wonder I feel so heavy.

Papi finally admitted he is a little nervous. Hah. And while I thought I got over my initial fear of labor it is slowly crawling back. The other night I rolled over and heard a POP which from the pain I felt afterwards I figured was from my hip.. So i thought i broke my hipbone (it hurt so bad!) then i started freaking out because if i cant handle that pain how will i handle getting this kid out?! But then i guess sleep won over my worry haha. I fell back asleep. And sidenote, everytime I move or feel any sort of pain, Chico says "Contractions?!?!" .... its cute :)

We finally finished our registry at BabysRUS. Almost hit 100 items! We went a little overboard scanning all kinds of things so we'll see what we end up with :) Still havent had lots of time to prepare ourselves for the new arrival. Papi has class till 10pm and loads of homework so its hard to get time alone to plan things out. But things will get done soon. My last day of work is March 2 so God willing I will have about 10+ days to relax and get some things together.

Also, in case people dont know, we will be delivering at the Kaiser in Roseville which is about 25 mins North of Sacramento. We live reeeaally close to the South Sac facility but have already toured the Roseville facility and really liked the environment and people there. So we are willling to drive an extra 20 for comfort's sake. Unless something crazy happens the day of, Roseville it is! Papi also thinks it is much "safer" there than South Sac which is also comforting lol.

Heres what the belly is looking like at 8 months :) significantly bigger but still fairly small in comparison to the other women i know that are due in March and even April!

Baby Gio is still moving A LOT and we are getting more excited by the day. It may not seem like it some days but we are looking forward to him coming into the world :)

Aaaaanyways, I am dead tired. It has been a long and boring week. Its only Wednesday. uGH. Time to lie down and try to get comfortable. Good night all ! :)

34 weeks

Yep, today we are 34 weeks along. Almost there!

So far nothing has changed except that I have awful awful pelvic bone pain. Mostly when i get up from sitting or (now this is the best time ever) when  I roll over at night. It is awesome. NOT! But guess it means the baby is getting ready to move downward or is already there. Its almost time!!

This week I am feeling veerrrrry heavy which is making work a little more difficult than usual. Especially because I still do A LOT .. thats what happens when you are the "assistant" who could really be the Teacher. PSH.. Im so over it, cant wait to get out. But I will miss my kids, as much as they drive me crazy, I feel so attached to them :(

Lastly, I AM SO HUNGRY!!! OMG! I have this hunger that cannot be satisfied, Im running out of things to eat. Especially because what I really want right now is Jack in the Box with a fatty Coke. YUM.

the book of labor

As we draw close to 34 weeks and another day closer to Baby, I decided it was time to work on my birth plan + a "labor outline" for Papi.

So i spent a good part of today going through my Bradley books and clearly writing out things like the stages of labor and what happens in each, how to EFFECTIVELY help me relax and what I do and dont want to happen once the day comes. Its a work in progress but I know it will be pretty helpful to Chico once labor hits. Im still working on my own mental preparation which I will keep doing until labor day (haha), but it made me feel better to have everything I am thinking written out for Papi to see since I may not be in the state of mind to explain it all during labor and delivery. Any tips I should put in my book are welcome :)

ALSO, Heres a list of things we already have:
- boppies (2)
- carseat + 3 bases + skeleton stroller
- crib + mattress
- swing
- bassinet
- carrier?? like for your back i think
- a few outfits (most are bigger sized so we need newborn and 0-3 months im assuming, and also warm things because it is quite cold!!)
- a few burp cloths, towels and washcloths

Thats pretty much it! All of it is handed down from moms at work or family, but I am happy we at least have the majority of the big things we need. On Mommy's wishlist is a Rocking Chair :) I need a nice comfy place to nurse :)

Anyways, baby has been HIGHLY active. Swear this kid never sleeps. Maybe he'll chill out once he's born. Chico and I are more excited by the day, and we are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the shower and celebrating our little bundle of joy!

33 weeks!

I am now 33 weeks and 2 days! YAY :)

I had a doctor's appointment on Monday and everything is looking great! I have gained 21 pounds, can you believe it?!!? I sure cant, no wonder I feel so heavy. Thats a lot of weight for me! The baby's heartbeat is really strong and he moves A LOT!! My co-workers say they can sometimes see him sticking out of me haha :) The doctor said I may gain about 10 MORE pounds yiiiikes. I have 7 weeks left (assuming he stays in till then) so I should gain about a pound a week, and baby will be gaining 1/2 a pound a week. Everything is just around the corner it is going by so fast :) I actually look really pregnant now, moreso than I did around Christmas time.

Going to go to work early tomorrow to talk to my director about maternity leave and such. Let's hope they dont try to jip me somehow. Anywho, thats all for today more to come later :)
